EPCES Chairman Srikanth Badiga on Dignity in the Final Journey at TEDxHyderabad 2026

Srikanth Badiga, Group Director of Phoenix and current Chairman of EPCES, recently delivered a powerful talk at TEDxHyderabad 2026 on the theme "FIRE-UP," where he advocated for restoring humanity to life's final journey. Drawing from a personal experience with a chaotic and undignified cremation, he shared how that moment sparked his mission to transform funeral spaces into environments of peace. He founded Mahaprasthanam to reimagine these spaces through the core pillars of Embrace, Honour, and Farewell, emphasizing that cremation grounds serve as a true "mirror of society". This initiative has since grown from a single point of personal discomfort into a widespread movement that has modernized and reshaped thousands of crematoria across India. During the event held on April 19, 2026, he highlighted that true progress is not just about building higher, but about the compassion with which we treat the most certain moment of life. His address served as a call to action for humane infrastructure, reminding audiences that dignity should extend to the very end of our human experience.
